Course Description
Safety Auditor candidates participate in the Safety Auditor Clinic, tailored for aquatic professionals seeking the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to perform safety audits of aquatic operations in their community. This clinic serves as the first step in a three-part process to become an appointed Lifesaving Society Safety Auditor. Step two involves completing an apprenticeship alongside a Chief Auditor on a safety audit. The final step requires submission of a completed Safety Auditor Training Record, along with a positive recommendation from the Chief Auditor and the associated fee, to the Society’s office, culminating in official appointment as a Safety Auditor.

Prerequisites
Requirements to be appointed as a Lifesaving Society Safety Auditor:
Lifesaving Society Pool Operator 1 certification (can be completed before or after the Safety Auditor Clinic; ideally before)
Aquatic Safety Inspector certification (can be completed before or after the Safety Auditor Clinic; ideally before)
Successful completion of the Safety Auditor Clinic
Experience conducting safety inspections
Apprenticeship with a Chief Auditor on a Safety Audit

Recertification
Aquatic Safety Auditor remains current for 24 months from date of certification. Aquatic Safety Auditor is recertified by successfully completing a SEE Auditor recertification course.
