Course Description
The Pool Operator Level 1 course combines safety management with essential facility operation knowledge. It equips pool operators with the resources and expertise needed to maintain safe swimming pools in compliance with provincial health regulations, covering the following topics:
1. An understanding of different pool types and the importance of maintenance planning.
2. Knowledge of the main water contaminants and how water treatment applies to both Class A and B pool and spa systems.
3. A practical, hands-on approach to solving common water treatment issues.
4. The impact of Recreation Water Illness and the principles of maintaining pool air quality.

Prerequisites
None.

Recertification
Pool Operator 1 remains current for 24 months from date of certification. Pool Operator 1 is recertified by successfully completing a Pool Operator 1 recertification.
